A LITTLE ABOUT ME
A BC girl from birth and the eldest of two children, I grew up in Surrey in the Sunny Fraser Valley, which is just outside of Vancouver.
As a child and into my teenage years I dreamt of becoming a rich and famous novelist. I would carry my loose-leaf notebooks every where I went. The pages were filled with adventures with characters that became my friends.
As time went on and life intervened, my dream of being a writer was put on a shelf. I went on to pursue a career in the travel industry which spanned through my twenties and into my thirties. I worked for JTB International, joined the team of Canada 3000 Holidays and experienced the tragedy of a layoff shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. I joined the accounting team of Intrawest Central Reservations (formerly Resort Reservations) in December of 2001.
Five years ago I married my husband and with in a short span of two years we welcomed two sons into our family. Shortly after the birth of my second child I made the decision to pursue my dream of becoming a writer. This past January 2009, I launched my freelance writing career.
I find balance in my life between an active family life and my writing. My other interests include camping with the family, bicycling, photography, scrapbooking and family history.
I actively write for Typeamom.net and the Sharedlog Writing Project.
I can be found on Twitter and Linkedin. If you would like more information about my work or to discuss a writing assignment please email me or click on contact me.
